Founded in 1983, Western Culinary Institute was originally the Horst Mager Culinary Institute. The school gained international renown and changed its name to Western Culinary Institute in 1986. Today the school is affiliated with Le Cordon Bleu and offers several degree programs. It was the first school to offer the Le Cordon Bleu Restaurant Management Diploma in the US.
