Bobby Flay: Our Favorite Celebrity Chef
Television
personality, cookbook author, and restaurateur -- Bobby Flay
manages all these positions with aplomb. Flay is the proprietor
of four restaurants: Bar Americain, Mesa Grill, and Bolo in
New York City, and Mesa Grill Las Vegas, and has published
five cookbooks, mainly focusing on grilling.
So,
what’s so great about Bobby Flay? He has an infectious,
boy-next-door charm that makes viewers of his four Food Network
shows (“Boy Meets Grill,” “BBQ with Bobby
Flay,” “Hot Off the Grill,” and “Food
Nation”) more than happy to invite him into their homes.
He also has a unique approach to food and flavor -- like most
chefs he received classical French training at the French
Culinary Institute, but then developed his own iterations
of Southwestern and Spanish cuisine, incorporating his love
of exotic chiles, avocados, and grilling. (Flay has a particular
fascination with grilling.)
Bobby
Flay also has an adventurous spirit - participating in and
winning Iron Chef competitions both in the US and Japan. Flay
has an affinity for color and design as well - the new Mesa
Grill Las Vegas is a wild spectrum of colors that expertly
compliments the cuisine. Bobby Flay clearly has a love of
food and flavor -- he constantly experiments with ingredients
(grilled lobster, red onion marmalade, papaya cocktails),
and has a penchant for creating quick and easy meals - whether
it’s a sophisticated picnic or grilled appetizer samplers,
you can count on Bobby Flay for innovative, beautiful meals
with maximum artistry and minimum fuss.
